Well made wall lamps with a fairly neutral/modern styling. They do swivel from side to side, but with the shade in place you can't get them very close to the wall because the arm is fairly short and jointed only at the base, but it does allow you to direct the light to some extent. Considering the way most products are made these days, I think the quality of these lamps (they come as a pair) is pretty high. One reviewer complained that the lamp was not lined up on its' base vertically, but I've found there's a little play in the mounting so you can correct for any vertical displacement. You can't tell from the pictures, but there's a plate that attaches to the wall with screws, and then you attach the lamp to this plate with the two round knurled nuts that you can see in the pictures. It's good to have some sort of level to ensure that you get the plate mounted level so the lamp ends up level once its' attached. The knob on the base that's directly beneath the lamp is a rotary control that goes from OFF (fully conterclockwise) to full brightness (fully clockwise). This acts as a dimmer through its' rotation, so CFL bulbs that aren't specifically made for dimming will only be on or off. Parts selection looks pretty good and the cord is an approved, solid cord at least 6' long with the typical 2-blade grounded plug. Lamps of lesser quality seem to skimp on the shade, but the shades for these lamps are high quality as well. I bought the matching metal cord covers and this really dresses up the lamp, although it does leave one seam, but I don't find that objectionable. All the screws come with both the cord covers and the lamps along with drywall anchors -- the screws are more than long enough, especially for the cord covers, so I substituted my own shorter screws. I also bought a 4-pack of the suggested 43 watt halogen bulbs. These provide ample light to read by, but I could have used brighter bulbs had I wanted to. Take your time in the installation and you should have a matching pair of wall lamps that will last for a very long time. Highly recommended.I'm used to lighting design, map projection and light in everything. This product is amazing for a few reasons. First of all, the customer service is amazing because I bought 2 and one of them came with a cosmetic defect. They sent a new one to me and apologized, so they deserve our respect as a consumer. Second, the product is of the highest quality as the material is 304 steel, there is no visible solder piece, no steel burr, no loose parts, the finish is modern and without that classic 1970 USA style crap. Many of the things in the US, especially in Florida are the same as they were used in 1930 and it makes me gag, but they've managed to keep a modern design that goes with both styles so if your house looks like a museum or if it's modern like mine , will match in the same way. The product uses thick plate and is heavy, which means greater durability and overall quality. The screw caps are steel and the only plastic thing is the dimmer knob, but luckily it's chrome. Recommended by far. One tip is to use half-chromed LED bulbs.Hooked these up in our bedroom and synced with our Alexa Echo. Set up was pretty easy and you can create routines for the rightness depending on what you say. The only comping is when they are very low (10%) brightness they flicker a little. We just adjusted the know in the light to be all the way in and it helped the flickering problem. These have freed up so much space on our nightstands now.I installed these in my bedroom because our table lamps died. I wanted more space on my table, so I got these to hang on the wall. They are pretty easy to install if you are handy. I used a level, but they don't look quite level, but maybe the box (the part that sits on the wall) is a bit lopsided to the fixture? It may be slightly adjustable, but I'm not redoing it. They have a dimmer switch, but you can't "Dim them ON" meaning you have to pretty much turn them all the way on, then dim them down to get your desired light. In the middle of the night it's BRIGHT, then dim as opposed to just turning them on a little. They flicker sometimes, I don't know why, but I adjust the dimmer knob and they quit. I don't think these are high quality lights, but for us, they do the trick. They really help save the top of my night stand and are out of the way. These lights actually came from Lamps Plus who I have dealt with in the past. Their reputation remains stellar. The product is well made and very sturdy. The wall box is all metal and the swing arm is also well made. The shades are a thick material and the framework is strong. This is a 100% great item. They come with a cord to plug them into a wall socket. For those of you that want to hard wire them, a small amount of knowhow is necessary. I drilled a hole in the back plate large enough for a piece of Romex wire and filed the edges smooth. I used a small piece to protrude through the hole as an insulator connecting one end to the house wire and the other end to the lamp wire. The back plate box is big enough to fit the wire and wire nuts inside easily. That's it. Works great. The lights have a dimmer switch on the plate, but for my purposes being hard wired, I just use the wall switch to turn on and off.Like others, my lamps came with the arms tilted relative to the base. Turns out, it was a really easy fix. Just unscrew the backplate and then unscrew the screws holding the arm on and adjust. I think they become tilted due to overtightening.Otherwise, I'm really happy with the lamps. They have a high end looking finish and the knob is a solid feeling knob. The dimming function works well with my blue light reducing bulbs. The lamp shades are definitely 'regular full size' - at first I expected them to be more sconce sized. The lamps seem very well made. Once up on the wall they look just like the picture. The screws and the plastic clips things that hold the lamp to the wall are very cheapcould not get them to work, they just kept spining in the wall. So we use our own molly boltsThese lamps are easy to install and look great.
